New project from New Artisans De Genève: Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5167A “Coomassie” At the client's request, this watch embodies his memory of flying over Lake Cooma.

The projects of bespoke studio Artisans De Genève are particularly noteworthy. Behind the creations of these Genevan craftsmen there is always a story about the future owner. For example, in the company's latest project, a customer who loves hot air balloons asked for his watch to capture the memory of flying over Lake Cooma. This project is based on the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5167A.

Lake Cooma (not to be confused with Lake Como) is located at 1000 meters above sea level, near the Alpine village of Flims in canton Graubunden. Judging from the results of the clock, the place was picturesque. It's not without reason that the town of Flims is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Patek Philippe turned into a skeleton again. The secret to the model's unusual design lies in the finishing. The caliber 324 bridges are machined using the martelage technique, which literally means “hammered”. This is what the process looked like, and the result is an original texture inspired by stingray skin.

The barrel bridge and balance bridge are cut from a single piece of steel, polished and hand-rounded at the corners using goatskin.

The color scheme of the clock conveys the autumn colors of Lake Cooma. Platinum is designed in blue, referring to the turquoise water of the lake. Rose gold is visible on exposed parts of the movement. By the way, the oscillating weight of the watch is made of rose gold and is engraved with the Calatrava cross logo.

The hour markers and strap are brown, poetically known in English as royal ebony. The color is obtained by PVD spraying developed specifically for this project.
